Change often begins at a deeper level.
Some patterns are easy to understand but difficult to change. You might know what you want to do differently, yet still feel pulled into the same reactions, habits, or emotional responses. That is where hypnotherapy can help.
Hypnotherapy supports you in accessing a calmer, more receptive state where your mind can make connections, shift beliefs, and integrate new ways of responding. It is safe, intentional, and fully collaborative. You remain aware, in control, and supported throughout the entire process.
Hypnotherapy at Mai Mental Health is not about quick fixes or dramatic transformations. It is about working gently and effectively with the part of your mind that holds long-standing patterns.
• Shift habits, thoughts, or behaviors that feel automatic
• Reduce internal tension or stress responses
• Explore the roots of self-doubt, fear, or identity-based beliefs
• Build confidence and clarity in your decisions
• Strengthen emotional regulation
• Support anxiety, low mood, or burnout in a deeper way
• Feel more connected to your goals and potential
• Address barriers that talk therapy alone hasn’t fully reached

How Hypnotherapy Works
How it works
In hypnotherapy, you enter a relaxed, focused state similar to meditation. This allows your subconscious mind to engage more openly with imagery, insight, and internal resources. We work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You are conscious and aware the entire time.
Nothing happens without your permission.
Sessions often include:
• Guided relaxation
• Visualization
• Gentle exploration of beliefs or patterns
• Strengthening internal resources
• Supportive suggestions
• Grounding at the end of each session
Hypnotherapy works well on its own or combined with talk therapy and Brainspotting.
